about tara

Tara Halverson has a deep passion for working with children and families. That passion has been the catalyst for a more than 25-year career of designing programming that is creative, engaging, and encourages children to have fun and be healthy in a safe environment.

For the past 16 years, Tara has worked for Fitness Crossroad, a community fitness center in Northeast Minneapolis, as the Member Services and Child Care Director. In this role, Tara collaborated directly with the club’s Owner and General Manager. She played an instrumental part in developing and implementing all of the classes, special events, and care for children aged six weeks to 10 years. This included onsite childcare for the gym, yoga and fitness classes, summer camps and themed activity nights for kids paired with Parents Night Out. Tara served in this role until the club’s closure in December 2021. The work that Tara did there, along with her long record of community service, contributed to her being honored as the St. Anthony Villager of the Year in 2017.

Tara feels truly honored to have been a part of cultivating the community at Fitness Crossroad. She hopes to continue to serve families and make connections through Kids Fitness Together.

Prior to joining the team at Fitness Crossroad, Tara worked as an Early Childhood Teacher. She holds a Bachelor's degree in Human Development and Family Studies, with a concentration in Early Childhood Education and a minor in Gerontology from the University of Wisconsin-Stout.

Tara lives in St. Anthony with her husband Dustin, their three children, and their crazy, curious, adorable dog Vinnie.
